The Continuum Project
Tabakis / Gasparatos Guitar Duo
The guitar duo, formed by Giorgos Tabakis and Dimitris Gasparatos, performs Project Continuum on Tuesday the 20th of August during the Music Festival in Paou monastery. The project constitutes a description of the continuity of European music via compositions of over two centuries, performed with the unique sounds produced by two classical guitars.
From Bach, Kurt Weil, Satie and Grief all the way to Chick Cores, Gismonti, Abercrombie & Towner and many more, Tabakis and Gasparatos Guitar Duo projects its own image on the "Continuum" of creative music, emphasizing the common course of aesthetic tendencies and directions, so remote in time.
Giorgos Tabakis and Dimitris Gasparatos are two musicians who are firmly present on the Greek music stage. Driven by their love for music and the natural sound of the classical guitar, they have created a unique guitar duo which performs a repertoire rich with artistical variety, in which elements of jazz, improvisation but also classical patterns can be found. It is a rare combination of soκunds and impressions.
