Dear friends, welcome to the 9th year of Pau Fetival.
Pau Festival 2024 will be held from 1st to 4th August maintaining his purpose as every year: supporting coexistences and collaborations between talented musicians through interesting musical approaches. Pau Festival is supported by the University of Thessaly and the voluntary participation of the Music Ensembles of University of Thessaly / Synola.
This year, the program includes “Notis Mavroudis’ ” Guitar Days, other musical events and concerts, music workshops for the members of Synola, and a documentary screening.
“Notis Mavroudis’ Guitar Days started at Pau Festival 2023 as a tribute to the famous Greek guitarist and composer Notis Mavroudis with Maria Thoidou and George Tossikian as artistic directors of the program. This year, they will be held from 1st to 2nd August.
This year’s festival includes some significant vocal artists that will cover a wide range of repertoire from classical singing to traditional music, ballades and improvisation. Each one represents a different music genre: baroque, classical, ethnic, rock, artistic and popular music.
The final day of the festival will start with the screening of Pau Festival 2023 documentary, created by George Alexakis. Consequently, Music Ensembles of the University of Thessaly will present part of the guitar music workshop (direction: George Tossikian) and then, Synola will give a concert called “Open Connections” with favorite music selections of the members (direction / instruction: Maria Thoidou).
Pau Festival 2024 invited musicians: Thanos Mitsalas (guitar), Theodoros Kitsos (baroque guitar), Aspasia Dimitriadou (baroque guitar), Afrodite Patoulidou (soprano), George Tossikian (guitar), Irene Kalisvaart (guitar), Eva Atmatzidou (acoustic guitar), Charoula Glavopoulou (soprano), Vanessa Athanasiou (violin), Nikos Kyriosoglou (piano), Despoina Aristeidou (piano), Nodas Adamos (accordion), Music ensemble “Argalios”, Alexandros Iosifidis (piano, instrumentation), Olga Alexiou (daouli, voice, percussion), Zoe Mantzou (voice, percussion), Telis Dimitrakopoulos (saxophone), Music Ensembles of the University of Thessaly / Synola, Dimitris Demiris (guitar, bass), Dimitris Tassoudis (drums).
Artists, volunteers, students and collaborators of Pau Festival, will unite in a vibrant community, that lives and breathes with the music rhythm, accepts and offers insight and inspiration.
